Marlin offered this small bore single shot from 1875-1890 for use on small game. It is chambered for the .32 Long cartridge. Standard features included a 28" full octagon barrel, case-color frame, drop breech with lever, walnut stocks with rifle butt. The sights were a simple sporting rear with rocky mountain blade front sight. This is one of the finest original condition Number 2 rifles extant. CONDITION: The frame retains approximately 90% of their original bright case colors while the buttplate and lever still retain at least 50% or better as well. The screws still retain the majority of their bright fire blue finish while the screw slots remain virtually untouched. The barrel retains at least 98-99% of their original factory blue finish with just some light patina showing through under bright light. The stocks are proud to metal with nearly all the original factory varnish sans a few minor handling marks. The bore is sharp and the action crisp. These small bores generally saw heavy use but not this one. From the Mel Hrubetz collection.
