This rifle has all the traits of a Model 45 with exception to the double set triggers. It features the famed 44 - 1/2 action, 28" octagon to round barrel, walnut stock with no pistol grip and Swiss buttplate. The barrel sights have been removed and a long range tube scope and mounts fill the original slots mounted with Stevens 131 that measures 32" with fine optics. The caliber is a Stevens special, .28-30 Stevens. CONDITION: Excellent, all original condition with about 90% fading blue on barrel with some patina showing through. The frame retains traces of color but is mostly a soft gray. The stocks are sharp and handsome. Nearly all of the original nickel remains on buttplate. Bore is crisp. This rifle was available from 1896-1916 and was a favorite amongst target shooters of the era. From the Mel Hrubetz collection.
