As most collectors know, several thousand Sharps Civil War era Model 1859 & 1863 carbines were overhauled at the Government arsenal, barrels lined to .50-70, and totally refinished. They were then reissued to troops engaged in the Indian Wars out West. This is such a conversion but given the almost total lack of wear would indicate it spent most of it's time with a guard unit or stored at the arsenal. Features include round, lined blue barrel, case color fame, saddle ring & bar, walnut stocks with single barrel band. The buttstock has a sharp as new DFC stamped ribbon (David Clark) The rear sight has the Robbins patent. CONDITION: This gun is a solid 90-95% with bright blue screws, brilliant case colors and near mint wood with just a hint of high edge wear and some minor handling marks. The bore is like new. As good as they come. From the Mel Hrubetz collection.
