Made from 1878-1881. This is the so called military style rifle that features the nearly full length walnut stock, two barrel bands, checkered steel buttplate, ramrod, military type long range rear sight, sling swivels. blue finish. CONDITION: Razor sharp legends on frame and barrel. 95% or better factory original blue on metal. Wood is proud to metal, near mint, with LB stamp on right side (a JP Lower trait) Mirror bore. This rifle was well known as a favorite shooting iron used and sold by Lower. Lower competed at competition shoots using this type of firearm. From the Mel Hrubetz collection.
