This is a third model, closed top, solid hammer, single action .44-40 M&H revolver that was masterfully hand engraved in classic scroll rather than the usual punch-dot style. It would be considered C style 2/3 engraving and it is fitted with a pair of scrimshaw style decoration on the faux ivory grips. The entire gun was restored in a rich blue finish. Has all matching numbers. CONDITION: The delicate small legends on top of barrel are basically readable but thinning in spots. Action is as smooth as butter and locks up tight. The bore exhibits strong and sharp rifling with a bit of corrosion. The gun retains virtually all of the custom reapplied blue finish. Sharp and fancy cowboy gun.
