Manufactured in the Hopei province of China. The Taku Naval Dockyard production of C-96 pattern pistols is estimated at 5000 units. This example chambered for the 7.63 Mauser cartridge is the flatside or slab side variation and is marked on chamber top "TAKU NAVAL DOCKYARD" . Sporting the 1000 meter sight and two piece grooved wood grips. Blued finish with large ring hammer. All observed numbers are matching. An unknown Chinese engraving is on left side of frame. Comes with two holster stocks, one is numbered to gun the other is not matching. CONDITION. Good as completely restored. Bore is frosted with strong rifling. blue finish is excellent and all markings are very legible. Action operates properly. Both stocks are refinished and have rounded edges and material loss around attaching irons. Neither stock locks to gun firmly.
