Lot consists of: (A) RP marked clip point bowie knife measures 16-1/2" overall with a straight clip point blade of 10-7/8". Top of blade engraved with a large "R.P." on the left side and the other side has a faint inscription with the date 1856. Appears to be French. The iron crossguard has a ball at each end. The burl grip has a double ball brass pommel and a brass ferrule at the base. CONDITION: Blade retains a mottled grey patina, guard retains a grey patina, grip shows some scattered marks from use and brass mounts retain a dark mustard patina. (B) Bowie knife marked Tryon of Philadelphia. Measures 13-5/8" overall with a 8-7/8" clip point blade. Stamped "E.K. TRYON / PHILA" on left side. Scalloped steel guard terminating in a ball at both ends. Bone grips with faux antler design on both sides. CONDITION: Blade retains a spotted surface, mostly polished. Guard has been cleaned bright. Grips are excellent. DMG
