Marketed largely towards packbackers, boaters, and other users who would appreciate a takedown small caliber rifle. Rifles marked Armalite were made from 1959-73 after which, production was taken over by Charter Arms. Original ArmaLite barrels had a steel liner in an aluminum shell. The stock is a foam filled plastic shell with internal recesses for the receiver, barrel and one magazine. The original ArmaLite stock retained buoyancy longer than some later stocks by other makers. The receiver did not provide for a scope mount. The rear sight is a peep aperture, adjustable for elevation. The front sight was drift adjustable for windage. Included is the original box with instructions and three magazines. CONDITION: There are a few handling marks as can be expected on a nylon stock but solid 98% gun overall. Nice examples in boxes are hard to find on the market today. CORRECTION: Lot includes three magazines.
