The M9A1 was introduced in 1944 and issued through the end of World War II. Constructed from two sections of steel tubing, the launcher could be broken down for storage and transport, with a simple open steel sighting bar and an integral magneto in lieu of an ignition battery. Later production models featured an optical sight with magnification, many of the earlier models having been upgraded to that sight. This is still in the original configuration. Both halves are marked "M9A1" near the junction point, with a wire reinforced chamber and the serial number near the breech. The "CB" prefix is associated with the Cheney-Bigelow Wire Works of Springfield, a major producer of the Bazooka during the war. Black plastic grips. Proper style sling is Korean War dated. Demilled to ATF Specs. Accompanied by an inert 2.75" rocket. CONDITION: Retains 80% of an olive drab green painted finish which is not original. Some rust in areas. Perfect candidate for a proper cleaning and repaint. Missing the trigger. Grip screws and nuts are likely much later replacements. The cage at the rear of the launcher is slightly bent, as is the bell at the front. There is a break to the metal piece holding the firing wires on the rear half, right side. Accompanying inert rocket retains most of a black painted finish, fins at rear are bent. GR
