Of standard configuration throughout. Barrel marked US, DWP, with large MS stamping (Massachusetts?). Lock and barrel both dated 1851. CONDITION: Steel parts polished bright, with no significant pitting. Brass mounts are polished bright but show no appreciable wear. Stock is excellent, with sharp corners and only a few minor marks. Excellent cartouches WN and WAT for William A. Thornton. Action is crisp as new. Bore dirty but bright. A far better than average Aston. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
