Smith & Wesson USAF M13 aircrewman lightweight revolver chambered in .38 Special. This six shot K-frame revolver is a four screw round butt frame. All matching numbers including grip panel, an anodized aluminum frame and cylinder, flat latch, pinned barrel. The top strap is marked "Revolver, Lightweight, M13" and the backstrap is marked "Property of U.S. Air Force". Also has a "P" proof mark on the left side of the frame above the trigger guard. CONDITION: The steel barrel retains about 75% original blue finish. The cylinder has about 85% purple hue while frame retains 90% finish thinning on trigger guard. Action is crisp and grips are excellent. Mirror bore. The majority of these guns were withdrawn from service and destroyed because of the aluminum frame and cylinder issues. This gun was made between 1954-56 just after the hostilities in Korea. Comes with an original black USAF marked holster. Rare military weapon.
