World War II production Stevens 520 trench gun / riot gun. 12 gauge 5 shot takedown pump shotgun with ventilated heat shield and lugged to accept Model 1917 Pattern Bayonet. Sling swivels fitted in buttstock as well as fitted to bayonet lug. Smooth walnut round forearms and walnut buttstock with Stevens black plastic buttplate. Marked MOD.520-30 on left side of receiver as well as inspected with "P" proof and Ordnance bomb. Matching numbers found on receiver and barrel assembly. CONDITION: Very good as converted from riot gun. Heat shield is of contemporary manufacture and is void of small "S" inspection and has tell tale 1/8" gap at tension slot. Barrel markings not visible when heat shield installed. Barrel has evidence of filled front bead sight hole from original riot gun front sight. Blue finish is very good with over 80% remaining on receiver and thinning on barrel. Magazine tube retains about 40% thinning finish. Stocks are very good, without inspections, and have several small nicks and bruises but are full sized and very good. Action operates properly.
