An excellent example of this key US martial flintlock in far better condition than commonly found. Of standard configuration throughout. Barrel with P, US, condemned stamp. Retains considerable lacquer brown finish. Lock deeply struck S. NORTH, US MIDLN CONN, first type. All lock parts original. CONDITION: Appears to have considerable original finish. Mounts with some original lacquer brown; most removed from side plate. Walnut stock in remarkable fine condition, with visible LS cartouche and inspectors' marks. Still has considerable original raised grain. Front barrel band has original lacquer brown mixing with some patination. Pistol appears to retain original oak ramrod with slotted steel tip. Action is excellent. Bore is fine. Gun may be unfired. As good as specimen as one could hope to find. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
