Plain, round brass barrel with sighting flat stamped LONDON, with VP proofs in untouched condition. The bolted lock with line border and swan neck cock. Unbridled frizzen. Brass mounts with simple pineapple finial on trigger guard. Pierced side plate and two ramrod pipes, brass butt cap, figured walnut full stock. CONDITION: Deep, uncleaned patina, small parts appear original. Side plate a modern replacement. Walnut stock in fine condition, with only one small tight crack at side nail screw. Action is crisp. Bore is good. A good-looking 1780s period English flintlock holster pistol. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
