The barrel with deeply sunken cartouche at breech. Stamped PHILADELPHA. Deeply rifled octagonal barrel with two silver bands at breech, sunken copper cartouche. CONDITION: Barrel with worn, with some pitting in nipple area. Engraved back action lock deeply signed RICH HOLLIS. Hammer engraved en suite. Steel trigger guard with pineapple finial. German silver thumb piece, barrel wedges, rear ramrod pipe, and fore end tip. Ramrod is seized. Action is sticky. Gun will not hold on full cock. Stock has only minor marks and flattened checkering. Interesting inlay on left side of stock: two pheasants in grass. One minor tight crack near lock screw. Bore is good. A heavy, deeply rifled Deringer style pistol with an interesting Philadelphia connection. From the Robert Sadler Collection.
