Type 44 Carbine manufactured by Koishikawa, with no series marking. Mum is intact. Bolt, cocking knob, and floorplate assembly have been replaced with faux serial numbers to match receiver. Firing pin, rear sight, and dust cover are mismatched. First variation bayonet housing has original assembly number. Early variation two hole butt trap. Kanji characters on bottom of buttstock. Blued finish with strawed bolt release spring and rear sight spring. CONDITION: Blued components retain majority of finish, with scattered handling marks and light wear. Dust cover shows corrosion. Bolt has turned a gray patina. Strawed components show thinning. Receiver markings are good and show little wear. Stocks show scattered handling marks and indentations all around. Bright bore with good rifling throughout. This would make for a fine Type 44 for one to bring to the range.
