Solid silver reverse 'P' hilt with forward turned quillon and a ferrule around top of blade. Hollow Boston eagle head pommel with plain applied sheet silver backstrap. Fluted ebony grip with thin piece of silver wrapped in grooves, silver ferrule at base. CONDITION: "As found" and untouched, blade retains a heavy dark patina, a few minor nicks to edge. Hilt retains a dark grey unpolished patina. Grip shows some minor chipping around ferrule. PROVENANCE: From the Collection of George M. Rapport. Consignor states that he purchased this sword from the Horse Soldier. DMG
