Lot consists of: (A) Model 1812-13 Starr cavalry saber of standard configuration. CONDITION: Blade retains a heavy patina in most areas, markings are excellent. Hilt retains a dark brown patina. Grip very good. (B) Starr Model 1818 cavalry saber with scabbard of standard configuration. CONDITION: Blade has been chemically cleaned. Markings show some wear and blade has scattered areas of pitting. Hilt has been cleaned and now retains a light grey patina. Grip shows scattered areas of losses to leather. Scabbard with a dark heavy brown patina, with one crease and a minor crack on both sides. (C) Starr Model 1818 cavalry saber with scabbard. CONDITION: Blade very good, retaining much of original polish, with excellent markings and some minor spotting. Hilt and scabbard retain much of original black finish, some areas flaked and turned to brown. Grip shows some losses to surface. A nice lot of three Starr contract sabers. DMG.
