Number 442 in the series of 500 of these guns made, this one with 28” barrels are marked for modified and full. Barrels have raised, matted, ventilated rib fitted with two white beads and are marked with usual barrel markings for this model. French grey rounded action with gold-plated single select trigger, is engraved with near full coverage large, open, shaded scroll surrounding vignettes of mallard ducks, which are semi-relief gold inlaid and in various poses; they are flushing from marsh with cattails in background on left side of action, and settling into marsh, on right. Bottom of action depicts two mallards flying, and has official name and Latin name in ribands with limited edition numbers "442 of 500" also gold inlaid. Portrait of mallard is on trigger guard bow. Exceptional oil finished walnut long trigger guard tang round knob buttstock terminates with skip line checkered wood butt. Modified point pattern checkering wraps over top of grip, and has flourishes into butt. Matching field type forend. Housed in its original full length American walnut case with brass trim is lined in puckered red velvet. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine retaining nearly all original finish to both wood and metal. Appears unfired since proof with only minute handling marks. Case is excellent with some marks. JSL
