1911-A1 with GHD frame inspection, checkered arched mainspring housing, short milled Colt hammer, checkered Colt wood grips, and short milled checkered trigger. Barrel marked on left side of chamber "COLT 45 AUTO" with "G" inspection. Polished feed ramp and numbers matching slide. Serial number is Colt factory applied with chattered area background. This is period done at time of manufacture. VP proof on trigger guard with "8" sub inspection. This was obviously done as to not waste important war materials during the stressed 1943 production period. CONDITION: Very fine with pistol retaining over 92% factory dark parkerized finish remaining with losses at high point s of corners and sights. Very slight holster rub on front strap. Bore is excellent. Action is crisp and properly functioning. Unique example of war time manufacture expediency. TDW
