Manufactured by Smith & Wesson as the Model 1905 Hand Ejector 4th model and known during WW2 as the Victory Model. Chambered for the Smith & Wesson .38 cartridge and intended for issue to the British. Later these guns were issued to the Bavarian Municipal Police by the the US Zone of Occupation authorities for law enforcement purposes. Phosphate finished 5" round barrel with smooth non checkered walnut grips with "US PROPERTY G.H.D." marked on top strap. Marked "BAVARIAN MUNICIPAL POLICE" on left of frame beneath cylinder release. CONDITION: 98% with most all original finish remaining with losses contained to small area on butt from swivel rubbing. Bore is pristine, grips are near perfect. No import markings.
