John Gowan's, New York, Chronometer Number 266, with 4", silvered brass dial inscribed "John Gowan's / New York No 266". Roman numerals, up/down wind indicator and seconds dial above, gilt spade hour and indicator hands, blued steel seconds, screw-fit glazed bezel, silvered brass gimbal and bowl, chain drive fusee movement. No key present, but appears to be in running order. Contained within a dovetailed rosewood box measuring 7" X 7-1/8" and 6-5/8" high, which is contained within a felt-lined mahogany box of recent construction. CONDITION: Very good.
