Six shot, fluted barrel cluster with British proofs in the flutes. Steel frame engraved with scrolls and border decoration. Steel trigger guard with scrolls and border en suite. Steel buttcap finely engraved. Cap trap finely engraved with an expanded flower. Walnut butt very finely checkered. Bar hammer finely engraved and engraved on top "J.G. JONES BANDMASTER 16 LANCERS". Push-on safety. Bandmaster Jones' pepperbox cased in wooden case with green baize lining. Very fine diminutive Sykes powder flask retaining most of its original bright gilding, body with nearly all its original copper and no dents. Other accessories include bullet mold, ramrod, turnscrew. CONDITION: Barrel cluster retains faint traces of original case hardening. Frame is good with no finish. Checkered walnut butt rates excellent with little damage. Interior of case is in fine condition. Exterior is brown bound with one horizontal crack through the top. A fine pepperbox in every respect, and research on Bandmaster Jones and the 16th Lancers would prove rewarding. MZ
