Standard configuration with commercial war time Walther address on the left side of the slide and "MOD P38". Serial number on slide is located on the top right side just behind the barrel. All numbers are matching. Brown Bakelite grips. “Experimental” copper colored finish to frame, the remainder of the parts are blued. Commercial Eagle/ N proofs on the barrel, slide and frame. It is estimated that only about 1,725 of these pistols were produced between late 1944 and February of 1945, with the majority of them ending up in Russia. To find an example in the United States is very difficult, especially in this condition. Not import marked. All numbers are matching. Accompanied by a "P.38v" marked magazine which is devoid of any military proofs. CONDITION: Retains 90% original finish overall. All markings are clear. Grips are fine with minor handling marks. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Magazine may have been refinished. GR
