Pair of pistols with quality bolted front action percussion locks, engraved with scrolls and signed "MARTIN / GLASGOW". Hammers engraved en suite with locks. Silver plated steel fullstocks sparsely engraved with Scottish motif and scrolls. Steel belt hooks. Stirrup rammers. Spanish form barrels engraved throughout their length with elaborate scrolls. Brass foresights. CONDITION: Mostly smooth, grey metal with no significant pitting. Some wear. Considerable traces of silver plate remaining on stocks. Diminutive silver prickers in the form of Scottish thistles appear to be original. Actions are crisp. Stirrup rammers are both original. Good bores. A good pair of Highland dress pistols by a well-known Glasgow maker. MZ
