The classic weapon of English Naval forces during the Napoleonic conflict. This particular example of standard configuration with well marked "(Crown) / GR" and "TOWER" lock. Barrel with "GR" and other proof. Long, steel belt hook crown proofed. CONDITION: Lock rates very good with extremely crisp markings and little wear. Barrel polished bright over old, minor corrosion. Dark walnut fullstock in excellent condition with one minor old knot filled on right side behind barrel tang. Brass mounts in fine condition. Buttcap with period marking "4 / S", significance unknown. Action crisp. Good bore. A far above average example of this classic military flintlock pistol. MZ
