Lot consists of: (A) English pepperbox with six fluted barrels, bar hammer, sparsely engraved frame signed "D. EGG LONDON" on top strap. The bag grip stamped "ILLINGWORTH" on either side. CONDITION: Minor pitting on recoil shield. Barrels mostly smooth. Grip with thumb piece, engraved "RICHARD W ILLINGWORTH" good with minor marks and what appears to be some original varnish. Bores are fair. Action works properly and barrels index as intended. (B) Allen pepperbox with Norwich style handle, etched recoil shield, six shot barrel cluster, sparsely engraved steel frame, bar hammer. Norwich style grip with German silver escutcheons. CONDITION: Overall good with minor old pitting, particularly on barrel clusters. Recoil shield etching worn but discernible. Frame with heavier pitting around bar hammer. Grips are good with no significant damage, possibly some original varnish. Poor bores. Action works properly and barrels index as intended. MZ
