Lot consists of: (A) American circa 1775-1783 24 hole Militia waist box. For a similar example, see page 26 of "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. This example has a flap with rounded corner and an iron clasp, wooden .69 caliber block with contoured back, and two leather belt loops on back. CONDITION: Leather is pliable with some cracking and losses to surface on front flap, a couple minor tears. Belt loops both original, one detached at top. (B) American waist cartridge box with 24 holes, circa 1780-1820. For a similar example, see page 24 of "Battle Weapons of the American Revolution" by George C. Neumann. Contoured shape and approximately .75 caliber block of 24 tin cylinders. CONDITION: Leather is still pliable, but brittle, showing crazing, losses to surface and some minor losses at corners. Clasp and part of leather clasp loop are absent. One belt loop absent the other detached at the top. Block complete. A very nice box.
