This gun has a 29" barrel, with an overall measurement of 42". Clearly marked on the top of the barrel "R. STERLING NEWBURGH". Made in New York. Lock is marked "C. BAKER". Original flint configuration. Brass mounted. Similar guns of this maker are proofed at the breech indicating military purchase. This gun is not. Stock has "XLII" carved into it on the right side. Accompanied by what appears to be the original socket bayonet with a matching Roman Numeral on the flat of the blade. Blade measures 11". Fits well. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall, having been lightly cleaned at some point. Markings are clear. Wood is fine with light dings and handling marks. Bore is fine with minor pitting. Fine mechanical function. Bayonet is in matching condition with areas of light pitting. GR
