(A) 1858 Model Army. Octagon 8" barrel chambered in .44 caliber. Barrel marked two-line "PATENT SEPT.14,1858/E.REMINGTON & SONS,ILION,NEW YORK,U.S.A." Blue with case hardened hammer, brass trigger guard. Two-piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Good overall. No original finish. Turned a soft brown patina overall. Grips show moderate to heavy wear with initials "E D" carved in both grip panels. No visible military cartouche on grips. Military sub-inspection stamps visible on metal components. Dark bore. (B) New Model Army. Same configuration as "A" above with exception the barrel address includes a third line marked "NEW MODEL". CONDITION: Fair-good overall No original finish showing moderate to heavy wear. Edges of barrel rounded. Overall metal surfaces show moderate pitting. No visible military inspection stamps. Grips are good, showing moderate wear. Dark bore. -MKS-
