Buck and Ball style Kentucky rifle made by J.H. Johnston of Waynesboro, Pennsylvania circa 1850. Half round, half octagon style barrel with straight cut rifling, rifle sights and signed in script "J.H.Johnston". Percussion lock made by "Jos. Golcher" and controlled by a single trigger. Full curly maple stock with brass furniture including engraved four piece patchbox with Johnston's "Q" finial and toe release. Period brass plate repair to wrist. Incised carved line pattern around wrist. Comes with research on maker. CONDITION: Overall fair condition with wrist repair and old remnants of cleaning agents. Fair mechanics with trigger mechanism being a little sticky. DLM
