This 3rd Model Colt 1851 Navy is within the correct serial number range of guns sold to Prussia for Naval use, "Kriegsmarine". Colt 1851 Navies issued to Kriegsmarine have the initials "KM" with an issue number below the initials, located on top of the brass backstrap. The lowest known issue number is "4" and the highest is "993". This revolver has number "912" which appears correct however the "KM" is not present. Accompanying the revolver is the very uniquely styled holster that would have been issued along with a Kriegsmarine Colt. Holster features a pouch for extra loaded cylinder, and a percussion cap-capper. This rig includes the correct style capper with KM 332 stamped along the side and the holster has the correct Crown and "KM" stamp on top flap. CONDITION: Revolver is very good overall with matching serial numbers on all major components. No original finish remains, with a dove grey patina overall. Cylinder scene is very faint. Grips have been sanded and have rounded edges. Action operates properly and is relatively crisp. Bore has scattered pitting with good rifling. Holster is near excellent showing moderate wear. Heaviest use showing on capper pouch and flap. Capper is excellent. -MKS-
