Lot consists: (A) Imperial German Dove Head etched artillery sword, (B) Imperial German Dove Head sword, (C) German World War II Heer "Alcoso" Lion Head sword, (D) German World War II Heer "Herder" Lion Head Sword. (A) Imperial German Lion Head artillery sword with a 34" triple-etched blade marked "Anton Wingen". Blade is near mint, has very light runner and scattered marks with several very light dings to the blade edge. Etched blade has the "Zur Erinnerung meine Dientzeit" motif which translates to "In memory of my service period" along with several motifs of horse drawn artillery pieces. Wire wrapped trylon grip is undamaged with heavy patina to the wire, and the nickel fittings also have heavy patina and freckling. Black painted steel scabbard retains approximately 90% of its original finish, with freckling and scattered marks throughout. Sword and scabbard will clean up. CONDITION: Blade is near mint, fittings are very good, and scabbard is excellent. Overall excellent condition. (B) Imperial German Lion Head artillery sword with a 33" blade marked "Anton Wingen". Nickel plated blade is near mint, with very light runner and scattered marks. Wire wrapped trylon grip is undamaged with heavy patina to the wire, and the nickel fittings also have heavy patina and freckling. Black painted steel scabbard retains approximately 85% of its original finish, with freckling and scattered marks throughout. Sword and scabbard will clean up. CONDITION: Blade is near mint, fittings are very good, and scabbard is excellent. Overall excellent condition. (C) Heer Officer deluxe Lion Head sword with "Alcoso, Solingen" marked 30-1/2" blade, with light runner and scattered marks. Blade appears to have been polished to the extent that no nickel plating remains. Lion head has red ruby eyes, and fittings have 40-50% of their gilt finish remaining with heavy patina. Wire-wrapped trylon grip is undamaged with patina on the wire. Black painted steel scabbard retains approximately 85-90% of its original black painted finish, with scattered marks and freckling throughout. Sword retains part of the portepee strap. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. (D) Heer Officer deluxe Lion Head sword with "Rich. A. Herder) marked 32" nickel plated blade, with very light runner and scattered marks. Lion head has red ruby eyes, and fittings have 35-45% of their gilt finish remaining with heavy patina. Wire-wrapped trylon grip is is dirty and undamaged with patina on the wire. Black painted steel scabbard retains approximately 85-90% of its original black painted finish, with scattered marks and freckling throughout. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. WZ
