Made in 1917, in a time period when many Parker collectors feel Parker Bros were producing their best guns, this 26" Titanic barreled gun made on a "0" frame with tapered matted rib with steel front bead. Barrel flats with serial number, and unstruck barrel weight of 2 lbs 14 oz and Remington Repair code "RD3" (11/1957). Splinter forend with engraved Deeley release is checkered in standard DHE grade pattern. The case hardened action is engraved in standard DHE pattern with pointer on left, setter on right and four birds on trigger plate all surrounded by well executed Parker scroll. Made with double triggers, auto ejectors, and auto safety. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in in typical DHE pattern with tear drop behind action and terminates with a nicely engraved blued skeleton buttplate and has a nickel oval near the toe which is unengraved. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain nearly all of an expertly restored blue finish, which over time will tone and become indiscernible from original. The action retains about half of its original case color, particularly nice on sides. Trigger guard retains about 40% original blued finish, mostly on bow, toned at tang. Stocks are mostly sound though there is a tiny area of loss near the right side of the trigger guard. Buttstock retains most of its original finish with some finish added for preservation and forearm retains most of an older professionally restored finish, never having been sanded. There is some flaking towards action on sides of buttstock. Buttplate retains more than 35% original blue. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanics are crisp. This is an excellent and usable small bore Parker with a ton of eye appeal! JSL
