Manufactured 1887. 24 - 1/4" full octagon barrel with half nickel blade sporting front sight and elevator adjustable rear sporting sight. Two line Winchester barrel address with "44 WCF" marking over chamber on top barrel flat. Half/button magazine. Two piece varnish American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate with trap for cleaning rod (included). Blue finished barrel and reciever. Case colored hammer, lever, and butt plate. Tang is fitted with scarce Winchester Model 62 folding-peep tang sight. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. The barrel and receiver retain well over 95% bright factory blue finish with very small amounts of finish loss at sharp edges. Forend cap retains 50% blue finish while hammer and lever retain over 80% vivid case colors. The buttplate is slightly silvered with over 30% case colors remaining. The straight grained American walnut stock retain over 90% original varnish and are very fine with several minor bruises and scratches. The bore is exceptional with sharp rifling and bright lands and grooves, The action operates smoothly and properly. A very fine example of the classic 1873 Rifle. The steel four piece cleaning rod is housed in the butt trap and is very good. TDW
