Manufactured 1882. Full deluxe Model 1873 rifle with 24 - 1/4" barrel with nickel blade sporting front sight and elevator adjustable rear sporting sight. Traditional two line Winchester barrel address with top flat of barrel over chamber marked 38 WCF. Varnished checkered pistol grip deluxe American walnut stocks with steel smooth shotgun pattern butt plate. Tang is fitted with the early thick base folding tang sight with fine knurling. CONDITION: Good with exterior metal finished having turned an even and honest chocolate patina. The varnished stocks are good with signs of minor restoration and the addition of additional varnish. The action operates smoothly and properly. The bore is slightly dark with decent visible rifling. Rifle has a fine honest appeal and is quite attractive. TDW
