1878 vintage Model 1876. 28" full round barrel with full length magazine tube. Rare and desired open top variation with four digit serial number. Two tone nickel sporting font sight with 1876 marked ladder adjustable rear sight. Chambered in .45-75. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Straight grip. Rifle style buttplate. Standard trigger. CONDITION: Very good with traces of original blue, turned mostly a a grey/brown patina overall. Bore is dark. Action is crisp. Wood shows moderate wear with period repair at wrist that in virtually undetectable. Correct and unmodified open top 1876 rifles are rarely encountered and this example is fresh to the market and never before offered for sale in the US. TDW
