Later 18th to early 19th century. The magnum coaster, believed to the mark of John Roberts and Company, Sheffield, dated 1789. The coaster with everted gadrooned edge , hallmarks on the bottom rim at the side, partially readable, partially not. The pair of single wine coasters with a hallmark date of 1814, London, with nicely classical pierced border, each hallmarked on the bottom rim. Size: magnum 7" Dia., coasters 5" Dia. The magnum is also marked with the initials "EM" beneath a dog at a rondel at the center of the base. The pair of coasters stamped with a crest of a deer beneath a tree and the Latin inscription "SUAVITER SED FORTITER".
