Late 19th century. The first, a small mat with three rows of five guls with latch-hook ends. The guls in indigo and ivory all set against a terracotta ground. Size: 2' 9" x 2' 9", square. Condition: This mat retains original fringe, selvage mostly intact, color remains strong with overall even wear, well within acceptable parameters. The second example, wrought with four rows of six guls within fine multiple latch-hook and scorpion borders in indigo, ivory and pale blue. Size: 3' 1" x 3' 4". Condition: This nice antique example retains traces of original fringe, selvage primarily intact, though color is now muted and soft with even wear throughout. The third, an Afghan Bokhara Prayer rug semi-antique example with diamond designs within the mihrab and four candelabra rectangular panels in indigo and ivory, all within multiple latch-hook borders and further within a main border of geometric design, with zig-zag arrowhead elements. The foot-end with diamond shapes in midnight blue and rose-red. Size: 4' x 4' 10". Condition: The foot-end of the rug retains remnants of the original long tassels. The top edge is without fringe. Selvage intact. The rug is overall cast with wine-red with grape tinge. Wear is even throughout and rug remains supple.
