The first, of Heriz design, with three aligned geometric poled-medallions, alternating with half-medallions, all with sawtooth edge in a midnight blue field of sazleaf decoration, within a sazleaf and floral ivory main border and with polychrome floral guardborders on a terracotta ground. Size: 4' 2" x 11' 1". The second, a northwest Persian runner, with central poled-medallion on an olive green and beige ground, densely populated with diamond shapes within brown spandrels and palmettes within the latticework, all within a geometric stylized floral main border of polychrome flowerheads in the Caucasian taste, the ivory ground within candlestick red and brown guardborders. Size: 3' 2" x 5' 9". Condition: Both runners are in overall good condition: the largest with muted, yet strong colors, fringe intact at one end and absent at the opposing end, selvage intact. The second, smaller example, with the fringe absent, selvage intact, colors with some running of the reds, generally good overall and pile evenly worn.
