Early 20th century. West Persia. A strong example of unusual proportions with geometric dark indigo poled arabesque medallion, set within a brick-red field with overall polychrome, floral, sazleaf and palmette design of geometric angular style. The midnight blue main border with rows of large stylized flowerheads and trelliswork. Size: 9'6" x 18' 8". Condition: Carpet retains good overall pile, with spot areas of wear throughout within normal parameters for the age of the carpet. Palette is strong and vibrant. Fringe is worn, selvage intact. Very good overall.
