Mid 19th century. American School. This unattributed full-length portrait depicts a girl with brown hair in ringlets in a red dress with black trim and lace leggings. She is looking at the viewer while reaching to pick a pink rose, a basket of flowers in her left hand. The background features a treed landscape with sailboat in a bay and mountains in the distance. Size: 37" x 30". Size overall: 43" x 36". Condition: Professionally relined with stabilized craquelure. Very good overall. Housed in a faux-grained flat frame with molded edges. Frame with light surface scratches throughout.
