Artistic leaded glass contemporary shade by Somers Stained Glass Studio has original autumn leaf design with heavy drapery glass used to create the leaves in amber, yellow, pink and orange. Glass is strategically cut making the folds in the glass become the veins in the leaves. Leaves are set against a background of blue and green confetti glass with small areas of much thinner red glass giving nice depth to the shade. Shade is finished with a row of amber chunk jewels surrounding the aperture. Shade is signed on interior with two brass tags. One reads “Original Somers Stained Glass, Deer Park, NY” and glass artist’s signature “John Masotti”. Shade rests on a Tiffany inspired bronze base with four pad feet supporting a pillow platform with onion design and applied tendrils leading up the stem. The base has a three-socket cluster and is complete with a pierced cap. Finished in chocolate brown patina. unsigned. Condition: Shade and base are very good to excellent. Shade is 27" Dia.
