An extremeley rare and important American Art Nouveau mosaic, patinated bronze and Favrile glass "Poppy" inkwell by Tiffany Studios. The inkwell is decorated with heavily iridescent blue-green damascene glass mosaic set within an organic leaf patinated bronze frame and further embellished with a heavily iridescent blue Tiffany Favrile glass liner and button. The inkwell is impressed "TIFFANY STUDIOS NEW YORK 867". The inkwell liner and button have an engraved signature "L. C. TIFFANY FAVRILE". Designed by Clara Driscoll. A similar example is photographed on page 430, plate 1709 of "Tiffany Lamps and Metalware: An Illustrated Reference to Over 2000 Models" by Alastair Duncan.
