World War II 101st Airborne "Ike" Jacket identified to Charles J. Kadlec. On the left shoulder the jacket has a hand sewn, cross stitched ADSEC patch that appears to be English made. There are also two machine sewn overseas stripes on the bottom of the left arm. On the right shoulder, the jacket has a machine sewn 101st airborne patch. The jacket has one US collar disc on the right lapel, and a signal corps disc on the left lapel. The collar insignia are clutch back type V discs. On the chest above the left pocket there is a parachutist badge that is marked "sterling." There is also a three piece ribbon bar that contains the awards: American Defense Ribbon, European–African–Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with two campaign stars and one invasion arrowhead, and World War II Service Ribbon. Below the ribbons is a Good Conduct Medal with the name "Charles J Kadlec" engraved on the reverse. There is also a marksman badge with a rifle clasp, both badge and clasp are marked "sterling." Over the right pocket there is a machine sewn ruptured duck patch. The inside of the jacket contains several ink markings, including Kadlec's initials "CJK" under the inside right pocket as well as K95-88 on the inside of the collar. The jacket is a size 36R, made by Youth-Craft Clothes Co. and dated June 30th, 1944. The jacket is in great condition for its age, and only displays minimal small moth nips and one light stain. JD
