A nice example of American rifle craftsmanship. This handsome safari rifle bears a 24" rust blue steel barrel made by "KREIGER". The barrel is supported with an engraved and gold lined mid section barrel band with eye for sling loop, barrel banded and stippled raised, bladed front sight which is covered by a gold lined and engraved hood. Top of barrel reads "ACGG No. 17". Front sight also houses a flip up ivory night sight. Engraved and gold inlay island rear sight ramp with a single standing leaf. An enhanced, engraved single square bridge FN Mauser action with a jeweled bolt slide and a gold border lined, checkered five panel bolt handle. The rifle's action is built with a flag (wing) safe. Left side of barrel near action reads "404 Jeffery". Left side of action chamber reads "2002". The oil finished and well figured English walnut stock with shadow line cheekpiece, strong and ideal grain flow has been built with a steel cross bolt, recoil lug, ebony forend tip, fine point 24 lines per inch checkering, pistol grip with steel grip cap, matching loop eye and a brown leather covered recoil pad. The steel floor plate is engraved with a golden cape buffalo head and border scroll. The steel trigger guard over the nice, smooth single trigger is lightly engraved and has a gold lined oval for initials. Canvas covered full length custom elephant hide embossed case with cleaning tools and sling houses this .404 Jeffery custom rifle. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrel, action and metal parts retain 99 percent original color. Rifling is clean and sharp. Stock and forend with some usage marks with minor handling and storage marks. CP
