Made by Samuel B. Thompson of Columbus, Ohio circa 1850. Full rifled octagon barrel with rifle sights stamped in block letters "S. Thompson". Recycled flint plate with percussion ignition system controlled by double set triggers with Ohio style half circle rear trigger. Artificially striped full maple stock with brass hardware. Original hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall aged patina with traces of original finish on stock. Mechanically solid. Several small cracks in wood near the muzzle with lead ramrod pipe missing. Ramrod broken and splintered at one end. DLM
