Lot consists of three swords with brass eagle pommels and bone grips ranging from circa 1805-1835. (A) Chain guard, checked and channeled bone grip. 1834 style blade, with bright etched floral and military motifs. Langets is shell form. Abstract acorn finials to crossguard. CONDITION: Excellent. Nice gilt to pommel. Slight shrinkage cap along back of grip. Blade with good edge and point, bright, with very visible etching on frosted panels. Brass mounted steel scabbard very good. Dull silver gray. Medium color to brass matching hilt. Some gray and brown spots lower edge and near mounts and dusting of brown overall. (B) Short saber, five ball knucklebow and counterguard circa 1805. Oval reeded grips very good. Blue and gilt blade. Floral and martial motifs with gilt highlights featuring a US Shield. CONDITION: Very good. Blade shows gray with dark gray and brown spots. Some raised brown in the blue panels. Pommel with some play. Brass mounted leather scabbard solid with crazing to surface, toned mounts. (C) Bright brass hilt, reverse-P guard, grooved bone grip. American eagle on obverse shield langet. Blue and gilt blade with small floral and martial motifs circa 1810-20. CONDITION: Good. Blade shows gray with dark gray and brown staining to upper portion. Blue good, but gilt is mostly rubbed. Scabbard shows wear to surface. Bass drag present and bright. Upper mount loose and with dark patina. Stud and ring with part of saber sling attached. No middle mount. (SR)
