Lot consists of (A) Scarce Model 1812 cavalry saber, blade stamped "P/OA/N. STARR/ US" on right side of ricasso. Standard configuration with reverse P-hilted birds head pommel and leather wrapped grip. Complete with its original scabbard. CONDITION: Blade retains a light grey patina with some scattered spotting. Markings are excellent. Hilt retains a dark brown patina. Grip very good with some losses to surface. Scabbard shows a mix of black paint and brown patina, with some minor denting. (B) Starr Model 1818 cavalry saber of standard configuration, complete with its original scabbard. CONDITION: Blade has been polished, markings are excellent. Hilt and scabbard retain a dark heavy brown patina. Grip shows some minor losses and crazing. (C) Starr Model 1818 NCO sword with scabbard of standard configuration with straight blade with standard markings. Stirrup hilt and birds head pommel. Leather wrapped grip. Complete with its original iron scabbard with hanging stud near top. CONDITION: Blade shows sharpening marks and scattered areas of dark spotting with a few nicks to edge. Markings very good. Hilt retains a mostly dark brown patina with some traces of original black finish. Grip shows some crazing overall. Scabbard retains about half of its original black finish, the remainder turned to a dark brown patina. A few dents and missing the strip of iron at the drag. DMG
