P.08 receiver manufactured by Simson & Co. between 1929 and 1934. Simson proofs found on all externally marked components. Imperial Eagle on left side of breech block with Simson proofs on right. Matching numbers include: the frame, receiver, barrel, breechblock, forward toggle link, rear toggle link, receiver axle, recoil lever, safety, trigger sideplate, locking bolt, and trigger. Firing pin bears an Eagle over "6" Simson proof. Magazine does not match but bears Simson proofs on the bottom and spine. Checkered wood grips are matching and bear Simson proofs inside. CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of arsenal applied bluing, with areas of wear on the frame's receiver rail and the muzzle. Grip straps show thinning with a pleasing patina showing through the bluing. Strawed components show light thinning. Bore is bright and retains strong lands and grooves. Checkered wood grips are excellent, showing only minute wear to the checkering. Overall, an absolutely fantastic Simson manufactured P.08 pistol. MW
